RV Womens Get together in Quartzsite Jan 16th-19th

I belong to a group called the RV America Womens Forum and we started our own forum not to long ago.
I come to the forum to laugh or cry and we teach each other all about RVing. Some of us are full-timers on the road living in our RV's, some still have homes and jobs and go out part-time, some of us are wannabees and have yet to get our own RV but dreaming of the day we can but we are all Sisters and have the love for the RVing lifestyle and the beauty that surrounds us.
We have become close through the years and talk to each other nearly every day. Very special Sisters!

Most of the gals were camped at the Rice Ranch in Quartzsite right across from the BIG tent. Sheila & I were already camped out in the desert in different areas so we just drove over every day. We had such a great time together!!!

What Do We Do in Quartzsite?

Learning how to do Dutch Oven cooking like the pioneers except we are using briquette's instead of wood . The hot briquette's are placed under the bottom of the pot and on top of the lid to do even cooking. From what I gathered the pot temps depended on how many of the hot briquette's you used. When the food was tender it was done.

Quartzsite "Q" Arizona

If you want something, you're sure to find just about anything in "Q" in January. People flock there by the thousands to have fun out in the desert every year.










This is a photo of the "Big Tent" it's 1/4 mile long and vendors galore inside. Surrounding the tent are other vendors and at the top of the photo is the Rice Ranch campground and BLM land ( long term camping area)

I spied this Owl across the street and got a great shot of her, didn't know she was winking till I saw it on the computer! She was no less than a foot tall!

Boomers, Roadrunners and Friends Abound in Yuma

Lots of Boomer, Alfa, Metro, Yuma friends have come to Yuma so we have been busy as Bees having fun! Boy we love retirement and this no stress lifestyle!

Been to lots of parties, get togethers and even the movies with friends this month Jan 2-14th
never a dull moment and enjoyed having Chuck & Jan Moore over staying with us just before going to Quartzsite and having meals together and then playing cards at night.

Finally got our Christmas present, a new TV for the casita...love it! Now I'd like the Wii fit and dance program to go with it. Heard it is addicting!

New Years Day 2009

The Boomers were having a Boomerang up at Mittry Lake 18 miles from Yuma so we drove over in the Jeep to spend the afternoon with them and the potluck dinner.

Lake Mittry, saw people fishing but was not sure they caught anything, I enjoyed seeing Kayakers out on the water
