HAPPY BIRTHDAY JORDAN!

Jenny had a great time with granddaughter Jordan on her birthday. Because it was the hotest day on record Grandpa Dan stayed at the campground to make sure the power did not go out. We had already tripped the circuit twice from everyone useing their air-conditioners and too hot to leave the cats alone just in case.
Jennys car registered 107 on the thermometer....has not been this hot on the West side of the mountains for 118 years!
Eastern WA is used to temps over 100 degrees and everyone has air-conditioning. West of the mountains rarely gets over 90.

The Sukura Japanese Restaurant had great food but lordy it was hot inside the Restaurant....air-conditioning barely worked and haveing food flamed right in from of us did not make it any cooler! Whew! We all got our dinners half off if we stayed!
We had a great time , I know it meant alot to Jordan to have everyone there. Dan & Jenny gave her a card with money inside. Jordan LOVES to read so we gave her money to buy whatever book she wanted.

HOT HOT HOT!!!

We got to Thunderbird Thousand Trails Park in Monroe WA from July 21st- Aug 3rd. We normally park on the river side of the park but they were full and I found one of our favorite sites on the main part of the park so we grabbed lucky 49. We had a nice flat shady site which was excellent due to HOT weather approaching! Hot weather was record breaking! We spent alot of time in the swimming pool!! Because of the weather we decided to stay two weeks instead of one week and alerted the family our change of plans.

Had fun time with family up at the Snoqualmie Casino on July 28th. Had a great time altho very HOT on granddaughter Jordan's 17th birthday in Tacoma on July 29th

While at Leavenworth we had lots of Chipmunks entertaining us so we let them indulge in the trail mix..of course it is now theirs and not ours from now on!

Leavenworth Washington

Dan & I had reservations to the Leavenworth Thousand Trails park July 18th-20th and oddly enough so did our friends Frank & Dianne Gruelle. They have never stayed there at the park so we decided to travel together and oddly enough we got two full-hook sites side by side on a Saturday in the Full-hookup loop! This was our lucky day ! Unfortunately we did not have clearance for the satellite dish, too many trees.

Sat night we cooked our own dinners but sat outside together and played cards afterwards.
Sun- Dan took off on his bike and Frank & Dianne went over to Lake Wenatchee
looking around. Played cards later in the afternoon
Mon-The four of us went into Leavenworth shopping and enjoy Dianne's 60th Birthday....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Funny I went into one shop and found just what I thought Dianne would like for her birthday and quickly purchased it so she would not see what I bought. She walked around the corner and noticed the plates that hook to your wine glasses for munchies with Palm trees on them and thought they were so pretty and liked them not knowing I had just bought them for her!! Boy she was surprised when she opened her present!
We went out to dinner at a Mexican Restaurant instead of German lol, food was great! Went back to camp and played more cards and the guys beat us...darn!

Had fun feeding the chipmunks and Dan got to see Jack Reimann the manager of the park who used to be my Boss at Cascade when I was a Ranger there.
Hated to say good-bye to our dear friends but knew we would see them down the road somewhere.

Boomerang at Lake Chelan

July 13th-17th Dan and I joined our Boomer ( Escapee RV Club members) friends up at the Mill Bay Casino in Manson to dry camp. We were having a Boomerang with our Host & Hostess Jim & Diane Fisher-Baker who lived a short way down the road from the casino. Jim told the casino we were big spenders so they allowed us to stay five days instead of only three!! We weren't big spenders but Dianne Gruelle and I both came out with more money than we spent!

Jim & Diane had lots of activities lined up for us to do and we had a blast!!! Thanks again , you two are the greatest Hosts!! We had lots of Happy Hours. Jim cooked us a HUGE Mardi Gras dinner with enough Gumbo and Jambalaya , coleslaw to feed all of us PLUS all his neighbors in the park and STILL had leftovers for another night for us!

Had a great time touring the Wineries and I held up even though I was really not feeling good from a sinus cold and head in a blur between meds!

Ate the mixed Berry pie from the Blueberry Hill Restaurant that was the best I have ever eaten in my life!!! I am fussy about pie crust because I used to make Cherry pies in high school and sell them and Mom taught me how to make a good crust for the pies. Excellent!!!! Marie Callendars could not beat this one!! Blueberry Hill has to be the best in the state of Washington!!

We had alot of fun and hope we get a chance to do it again some day. Weather was hot, had to run the generator all day to keep the cats cooled off , sunshine galore for alot of them to go swimming. Didn't have to ask Elinore twice ...we tease that she is part fish and always in the water!
Some did the boat ride to Stehekin for all day trip and lots to do at Lake Chelan and Mason like the Farmer's markets.
Wonderful wonderul time!!

Thunderbird Thousand Trails Park

July 7th-12th we stayed up in Monroe at the Thunderbird Thousand Trails park. We like to park backed up to the Skykomish River. This photo is what I love to see every morning & evening out the bedroom window.
Found our friends Barb & Jim Sweeney so went out to dinner in Gold Bar at the Mountain View Restaurant...good food!
Aunt Rete came to town and stayed over at the casino so on the 8th I met up with her there and had fun on the slot machines from 10:30 to 4:30. We both came out with more money than we went in with...smile. We traveled over to to Fall City and met up with Dan, Mom & Dad at the Rageing River Restaurant for Dinner. Another good place to eat and so is the buffet at the Casino.
Got together on the 10th with Mary & Joe Schonmaker in Maltby for pizza, Joe and Mary are Alfa friends of ours. We have a large group of Alfa motorhome owners as friends because we gather as a group called the Roadrunners. Mary and I are both on Face Book and Farm Town alot.
July 11th went up to see Dan's Aunt Alice, the last week of June she fell and broke her hip so had surgery and later got a digestive infection so poor old gal was miserable with the scoots and exhausted her. She has not been doing good the past month and in and out of the Hosp. The family thinks she is giving up because she has realized that after 94 yrs and single and VERY independent she cannot go back home and has given up. Aunt Alice was a wonderful 2nd Mom to Dan.

On the 12th our dear friend Lauri Eastmon came to visit, I made lunch for all of us and then we played cards.
That night and the next day I felt strange and came down with a severe sinus infection for 8 days! I was doped up on Sudafeds every 4 hrs to clear my throbbing head. Great just what I needed before going to Lake Chelan!! N-O-T!!!

4th of July

We were still staying at the Puyallup Elks Club so we stayed put and watched the fireworks around us and on TV rather than venture out. This was the first year in a long time that we did not have rain over the 4th of July. The area is really dry so the state was taking steps to keep fireworks under control so no fires would be started by fireworks.
