Dan and Jenny's Boomer Party

We not only had a great potluck but the gals had a blast on Jenny & Dan's Wii!!!
Joey Christensen, Jan Moore, Sharon Mead and Jenny had a blast bowling and racing the cows!! It was a hoot and we were screaming with laughter and cheering when someone got a strike!

Next winter we need to have a bowling night....just think you do not have to try and find a ball to fit your fingers or put up with a smoky bowling alley or wear those stinky shoes!! I think we have the start of something really fun!!!
Oh Dan think we need more remotes so more than 4 people can play!

They're here!

Our best friends Frank & Dianne Gruelle came back to visit us and we had a blast with them! We first met them in Moscow Idaho in 2000 at the Life On Wheels conference and became good friends with them. We love to travel with them and love it even more when they come to stay with us.

To welcome them back we invited a bunch of Boomer friends over for a big potluck dinner. We had such a great time and hated it that frank & Dianne could only spend 4 days with us. They have been invited back next year for sure!!

Love you guys!!!!

New Tradition started

When we are in Yuma we have alot of friends that either stay close by or come stay with us. We decided with some Boomer friends Carl & Joey Christensen, Gary & Nancy Asplund, Chuck & Jan Moore to go to the movies on Wednesdays at the Main street movie house. It costs us $4.00 each to get into the matinee and receive a FREE medium popcorn...EACH So we just buy a small pop each and we go see the newest movies. We love it!

Been a long time since we had gone to the movies and they make the seats comfortable now and everyone can see easy. I just wish they would turn the sound down...I'm deaf but not THAT deaf!! We had a great time and then go to Lutes Casino ( not a real casino but a burger joint) for an early dinner afterwards.
Get together at Lute's casino for dinner after the movies

I just LOVE flowers!

My Ocotillo is huge! The bright red tubular flowers at the top are a good source of nectar for migrating Hummingbirds in the Spring.

My California Bluebells
I did not plant this plant unless it was from some dormant seeds from last year, anyway I love it and it is huge!!! Sure hope it comes back next year!

One of our neighbors gave us this Prickley Pear cactus, this will be the first year it has bloomed so I'm excited to see what color the flowers will be. Mostly likely Yellow.....Beavertail's have hot Pink.
Ok I got creative with the shells I got from Mexico and spelled out J+D for Jenny + Dan. The rocks look dark around the plants because I just watered there. I just LOVE my garden! All the cacti plants have been babies that I got from neighbors and GROWING Bigger!!
I put in red rock to
1) look pretty
2) keep the weeds down
3) keep the cats out of there thinking it is another litterbox....sheesh they have their own outdoor one and one in the motorhome...Stay out of my garden!
My Palm Tree that I planted last year, another baby that I got from Bob Wiggons. The Ceramic Turtle below it came from Mexico for $4

OK I did it I killed the Agave plant don't send out the plant police!! Looks like a Pineapple now!! Need to dig the root up . This was a huge old Agave plant that really is not pretty and in the way of my new garden area that I want made against the back wall. So it has to go!

Here is all the dirt we hauled from Marilyn's house!! Hard part is keeping the cats out of the pile...they think it is their new litterbox!! GURRRRR!!!!
Created a new area and looked too bare so I stuck the "Fake" flowers there for the time being.
Front East garden...looking good!

Happy Birthday Dan!

Well I pulled off another great birthday for Dan. He was clueless that I had invited a bunch of people over for his 59th birthday. This is it ...his last year in his 50's!!

Thanks Gary for suggesting the Ice Cream cake this one was so YUMMY!!

Chuck Moore, Joey Christensen, Dan " The Birthday Man" Carl Christensen, Gary Asplund hiding from the camera as usual, Jan Moore and Nancy Asplund.

Thanks gals for helping me make this a real surprise! Jan made a great Spaghetti, Nancy brought a yummy salad and Joey brought yummy bread sticks .

Dan was totally surprised! Last year I had all his Metro friends hide in the casita to wish him a happy Birthday!
Dan is laughing because I had put only one candle on the cake....but the one candle did not blow out so he had to keep blowing it out!!
Was a trick candle!
