RoVing Rods at Winchester Bay Oregon Sept 24th-Oct 7th 2009

After spending the night at the Three Rivers casino we hitched up and all caravaned to the Winchester Bay Marina near Reedsport Oregon .

Dan and I were ready with our new outdoor cooker and crab cooking pot.

The first week was very very slow catching the crabs. A dredger was out in the harbor so it was scaring off the crabs. The 2nd week crabbing perked back up. Dan caught a total of 33 crabs.
We had a ton of fun and the weather was much better this year. Had a couple days of rain but all in all had a great time with everyone. Lots of potlucks, I made a huge pot of clam chowder and not a drop was left in the pot! Everyone loved my chowder!!! Headed into Reedsport a couple times for Dinner at the Eagles club for dinner. Had a ladies day luncheon and had my first taste of Tai food...YUM!!!

Sept 23, 2009 Three Rivers Casino

We spent the night at the Three Rivers Casino near Florence OR boondocking with our Boomer Friends.
Six Boomer couples out in the parking lot and more friends popped in to have dinner with us.
Played the slots but did not win here...darn! Food was great though!
Next morning we all caravanned to the Winchester Bay marina near Reedsport to group up with the rest of the RoVing Rods for some fun crabbing.

Boomers having Happy Hour at the Three Rivers Casino. We really got some looks from the other campers that night because we were a large group together. Had a great buffet dinner together in the casino but all of us had a sleepless night due to a rude camper who ran his generator ALL night long till 6:30 A.M. and THEN ran the motor of his Motorhome for 30 min GURRRRRRR!!!

One of the things we have learned in this life is to be considerate of others, this guy was a very large guy so was probably on a CPAP breathing machine but hey you can make those work off your batterys and be considerate and not park in the middle so you keep others awake all night, move your RV away from others!

Beauty of Oregon

Sept 21st-22nd 2009

Arrived to one of our favorite Thousand Trails parks, Whaler's Rest in South Beach Oregon. Park was packed and the site we got into had alot of trees around it so did not set up the Internet or DirecTV dish. Instead we went sightseeing. Very close to Newport so we ventured over there to check out if people were catching crabs off the long pier under the Newport bridge. Noticed the population of Sea lions had tripled over in Newport!!

Had a great Fish & chip dinner in Newport, got our fishing licences and crab bait ( chicken quarters). Now we are ready to head to Winchester Bay and do alot of crabbing with our RoVing Rod friends this year.

Dear friends Pete & Anne Cameron who used to work with Dan at Metro and retired to Depoe Bay Oregon . We spent Mon Sept 21st with them and went to lunch of Fish & Chips at the Newport Cafe. Found the Hoodie that I wanted there that friend Judy Hilke had. Has a crab on the back, and my favorite thing to wear!!

Both Pete & Anne have had health issues this past year. Anne is slowly recovering from her stroke several years ago. It took away her speech so it has been a frustrating struggle.

Sept 17th-20th Seaside Oregon

Well Biff has that look on his face of "I'm bored, are we home yet?".
We spent several days down in Seaside at the Thousand Trails park. Rainy & windy so I did not get too many photo's and we were busy taking advantage of the no sales tax in Oregon and went on a speeding spree. So now my Son Jason will not be worried Mom is running around town with bad tires and have 4 new ones.
Got a bunch of other stuff at Best Buy and one day we had a nice day so Dan rode his bike to Astoria and back to Seaside!!

Took advantage of the clear day and walked the main drag of shops in Seaside to the Promenade. Stopped at the shop that had over 100 kinds of Salt Water Taffy. YUM!!!

Sept 8-16th

Headed to the Puyallup Elks club so we could do the last of the things we needed to do and visit friends and family before leaving WA. Finally got the last of the storage things out of Best friend Nancy's attic to take down to AZ. Organized everything in the motorhome and even pitched stuff. Got to see Jason & Ginnella and granddaughter Jordan before leaving...even got new phones so I can text granddaughter Jordan all the time but mostly because mine would close too easy and cut off a conversation so needed a new one.
Did not get to go to the Puyallup Fair this year, did not feel good but figured I could go next year.
Boy glad they don't check our RV for how much booze you have when crossing into different states lol We had 2 cases of the Columbia Winery Cellarmasters Riesling to bring down for our next door neighbors in Yuma. You cannot buy that brand down in Yuma. I also found a new brand of Riesling I liked so brought some down for the winter.
Loaded up my scroll saw so I can get busy and make some Southwestern crafts this winter.

The Clark Brothers

When Dan and I joined Thousand Trails/Leisuretime RV membership we never thought we would become lifetime friends with other campers. Then Came along Willie & Marie Clark and Johnny Clark & Shellie Dunbar, we adore these down to earth ,funny, friendly and very talented musicians.

Johnny has played guitar for alot of famous country Western singers, and Willie just loves to sing too and boy can he tell jokes! Marie is the most upbeat gal I have ever met and always has a positive attitude and a huge smile. Shellie can be quite funny too and she has a beauty salon in North Bend.
Dwayne is their Nephew and has his own band. Get them all together in a campground and you have some good ole foot stomping entertainment and best yet it's FREE!! We look forward to bumping into them in the Summers camping. Love you Willie, Marie, Shellie & Johnny!!!

Happy Birthday Jenny

I had a fantastic birthday this year, a great lunch with my Mom & Aunt Rete on the 2nd at the Snoqualmie WA Casino and then on the 4th Mom & Dad took us to the Cheesecake Factory in Bellevue WA for my Birthday dinner. Had a blast with Sisters Kathy & Sheryl and Sheryl's hubby Joey.Food was great, atmosphere grand and time with my family and birthday cake afterwards PRICELESS!!!

Mom created a Lady of Guadalupe gourd light for me that is beautiful!!!
Sister Sheryl gave me a yummy smelling candle....I love candles!
THANK-YOU SO MUCH!!!!! LOVE YOU!!!

Pre Birthday

Aunt Rete came up from the Tri-cities to celebrate my birthday. Mom met us up at the Snoqualmie Casino so we had a Girls Day at the Casino and had a great buffet lunch and loved having just a girls day.
Thanks Rete!! Rete and I tried to teach Mom how to play the slot machines and Mom gave up after an hour and went home lol. Aunt Rete and I are die hards and we stayed for several more hours and as always Rete comes home with more money than me!!
Rete came back to our campground and spent the night with us before heading back home.
I always have so much fun with her!!!
I always like seeing Punkin her little dog, he LOVES to lick me to death!!
